The MaDeWater Weekly

More Than Water: A Week of Neighbors, Questions & Giving Back

A recap from Decatur’s own water store.

August 9–15, 2026

Another week is in the books at MaDeWater – The Water Store. And while, yes, we spent the week selling water, that’s only part of the story.

This week brought customer questions, community conversations, product requests, a little criticism, a lot of support, and another opportunity to give back. That’s what makes running a local business interesting.

“Why should I buy water from you?”

It’s a fair question. You can buy bottled water at grocery stores, convenience stores, big-box retailers and plenty of other places. We’re not pretending otherwise.

What we’re building at MaDeWater is different. We’re a local business focused exclusively on bottled water — cases, gallons, singles, specialty waters, cold water and delivery, all under one roof.

But the biggest difference isn’t what’s on the shelf. It’s the relationship with the people who walk through our door. When a neighbor asks for a particular brand, we listen. When someone tells us they need a different product, we pay attention. When the community needs water, we look for ways to help. That’s the business we’re trying to build.

120 Bottles. One Pantry. A Lot of Gratitude.

This week, our Philanthropy Friday effort took us to the Impact Church food pantry.

120 bottles of water were donated this week to help support the Impact Church food pantry and the people it serves.

For us, giving back isn’t supposed to be a publicity stunt. It’s part of the reason we wanted MaDeWater to be a local business in the first place. We could spend every marketing dollar on advertisements telling people we’re a good business. Or we can take some of those dollars and actually do something useful. We’ll take the second option.

You Asked. We Listened.

One of the best parts of being a small business is that we don’t have to wait for a corporate meeting six months from now to make a change. If a neighbor asks, “Do you carry this?” — we can actually do something about it.

This week brought more conversations about specialty and premium waters, along with requests for products our neighbors want to see on our shelves. We’re continuing to build our inventory around the people who actually shop with us. Because shelves should reflect customers — not just spreadsheets.

Being on social media means hearing from supporters, curious neighbors and people who aren’t exactly convinced by what we’re doing. That’s okay. Not everyone is going to understand the idea of a water store immediately.

Some people ask why we give away free water. Some question our marketing. Some wonder why they should shop with us when water is available everywhere. Those questions actually give us an opportunity to explain ourselves.

We’re not trying to win every argument on Facebook. We’re trying to build a business people want to visit. There’s a difference.

We’re Still Learning.

MaDeWater is a young business. That means we’re still figuring things out. We’re learning which products people want. We’re learning what promotions work. We’re learning what our neighbors respond to. We’re learning how to communicate what makes MaDeWater different.

And we’re learning that building a local business isn’t just about getting people through the door. It’s about giving them a reason to come back.

Another week means another opportunity. More water. More neighbors. More conversations. More community involvement. And, hopefully, a few more people discovering that “The Water Store” is actually a pretty interesting place to shop.

Thanks to everyone who stopped in, bought something, shared a post, left a comment, asked a question, made a suggestion, donated, or simply told someone else about us. We’re still building. And we’re glad you’re here for the ride.

Philanthropy Friday!

At MaDeWater – The Water Store,

giving back is more than something we do—it’s part of who we are.
We’re honored to support organizations and groups that make a positive impact in our community.
So far, we’ve had the privilege of donating bottled water to:

The Church at Stone River
Tennessee Valley Outreach
Decatur High School Band

Every donation is our way of saying “thank you” to the people and organizations working hard to serve Decatur.

If your nonprofit, school, church, or community organization has an upcoming event and could use a bottled water donation, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out and let us know if you need water!

How Oxygen Infused Spring Water Is Made

Step 1: Sourcing from Nature
Pristine Natural Spring: Water is gathered directly from a pure, mineral-rich mountain spring source.

Testing & Mineral Retention: Early testing ensures pristine water quality while naturally retaining beneficial trace minerals.
Step 2: Multi-Stage Purification
The water undergoes thorough filtration to eliminate impurities while keeping key minerals intact:
Sediment Filtration: Removes larger particles and debris.
Activated Carbon Filter: Eliminates unwanted tastes, odors, and chlorine.
Ultrafiltration / UV Sterilization: Destroys micro-organisms and bacteria for ultimate purity.
Step 3: The Oxygen Infusion Chamber
This is where the magic happens using advanced nanobubble technology:
Pure oxygen (O_2) gas is injected into the purified water under high pressure using specialized micro-infusion nozzles.
Cellular-Level View: Oxygen molecules are broken down into microscopic nano-bubbles that stably dissolve in the water, enabling faster cellular absorption upon drinking.
Step 4: Precision Bottling
Water flows through a sanitary, sterile bottling line.
Bottling is completed with a tamper-proof air-tight seal and assigned a batch code to guarantee freshness and safety.
Step 5: Ready for Hydration & Recovery
The finished bottled water is ready to deliver enhanced wellness benefits:
Increased Energy Boost: Oxygenated hydration helps combat fatigue.
Enhanced Athletic Performance: Supports endurance and stamina.
Fast Recovery: Aids muscle recovery post-workout.
Ultimate Hydration: Cellular-level absorption keeps you refreshed longer.

Spring VS Purified

A Neighbor stopped by and asked, what is the difference between Spring Water and Purified Water?
Neighbors, we get this question a lot at the store, so let’s break it down!
Spring Water comes straight from an underground natural spring and keeps its naturally occurring minerals — that’s what gives it a slightly distinct, rounder taste.
Purified Water can start from any water source but goes through a process (like reverse osmosis or distillation) that strips out minerals and impurities for a clean, neutral taste. It’s also our go-to recommendation for CPAP machines, since mineral-free water keeps equipment running smoothly.
Bottom line:
Spring water = natural minerals & flavor.
Purified water = ultra-clean & neutral.
